3pm - Maiyan - A Mayian is a traditional ceremony taking place before the wedding. This ceremony consists of friends and family rubbing a turmeric paste on the bride and groom to cleanse the skin and create a glow!
On the day: Please make your way to the pool area for festivities. We begin with some yummy food then head into the Maiyan event.
7pm - Jago - The word Jago means ‘wake up’ in Punjabi, and this event is a night of celebration bringing together the bride's and groom's family. Many years ago (before e-invites were a thing!) family members would go around the village the night before the wedding with colourful pots lit by candles on their head, singing and dancing as an open invitation to neighbours to attend the wedding.
On the day: The arrival of the Jago is just after the Maiyan, this is when celebrations will start! Get ready to dance and indulge in some authentic pizza 🍕
